For serious performance, you need serious components. That's why we're offering the FP400 line of large frame turbochargers. We've taken the heavy hitting, super reliable Borg Warner S400 series and severely improved it.
We start with a genuine BW S400 CHRA and tear it down to basic components. We coat the bearing housing to reduce rust and corrosion. Then the thrust bearing is replaced with a full circle oversized pad bearing that is steel on steel for the slowest wearing bearing possible. The journal bearings are also replaced with higher flowing oil ported versions to aid in keeping the bearings cool under heavy loads. All the rotating parts are zero balanced and then assembled with the newest HTZ compressor aero wheels that are made 100% in the USA, and the assembly is balanced a final time to verify the perfect nature of the CHRA in its assembled state. To ensure long life for this turbo, use a -6 oil supply line.
The XR480 model in our lineup flows 125+ lbs/min with its 80MM compressor wheel. That puts this turbo in the 1100-1300 HP range for both high PR, small engine applications or lower PR V8 applications.
